Midnight 12.1.5 goes live with a new raid-style challenge, a multi-chamber gauntlet, and a story push

Blizzard’s weekly World of Warcraft highlights are packed this time, led by the announcement that Midnight’s 12.1.5 content update is now live. For players who like bite-sized raid encounters, Blizzard calls out a single-boss raid against Kith’ix featuring flexible Mythic difficulty. On the repeatable challenge side, 12.1.5 also introduces the Labyrinth of Kindo’jan, described as a large, Delve-like gauntlet with nine chambers, a Tier 11 solo challenge, plus Mythic gear, cosmetics, and titles.

Blizzard also says Season 2 receives a mid-season refresh and Keystone Mythic, alongside a new story campaign sending players back to Quel’Thalas and Zul’Aman as the Midnight saga continues.

Echoes of the Worldcore: next Midnight update is now on the PTR

Looking ahead, Blizzard shared an overview of Midnight: Echoes of the Worldcore, currently available on the Public Test Realm (PTR). The update brings players back to Dornogal to investigate access to the Coreway. Blizzard’s preview mentions a new story campaign titled “The Return to Dornogal”, darker developments in Talebound, and new Lorewalking quests, with additional items teased under “and more.”

WoW: Forever details: PvP talk and a Paladin deep dive

Blizzard also highlighted Episode 4 of the WoW: Forever Podcast, focused on PvP and featuring host Countdown To Classic with guests Savix and Tips Out, joined by Blizzard developers Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield and Tim Jones. The episode is framed as a look at the team’s PvP approach and what it means for players preparing to jump in.

On the class design front, Blizzard posted a World of Warcraft: Forever Paladin deep dive. According to Blizzard, the update aims to strengthen the class’s identity around Seals and Judgements, while expanding options across Holy healing and spell damage, Protection tanking, and Retribution damage.

Twitch Drop: housing decor item available for a limited time

If you’re the type to pick up cosmetics where you can, Blizzard says a Twitch Drop is now live for the Cuddly Gold-Colored Grrgle housing decor item. To claim it, Blizzard instructs players to watch 4 hours of eligible World of Warcraft content on Twitch while Drops are active. Blizzard lists the window as October 13, 10:00 am PDT through November 3, 10:00 am PST, and points players to its FAQ for account linking details.

Subscription promos and a WoW: Forever soundtrack

Blizzard also reiterated a 6-month or 12-month special subscription offer, stating that a 12-month subscription provides access to World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft: Forever, and WoW Classic progression (noted by Blizzard as currently Mists of Pandaria Classic). Blizzard adds that the longer offers include bonus items, including several intended for WoW: Forever once it launches in November.

Finally, Blizzard spotlighted the World of Warcraft: Forever Original Soundtrack, with a track list spanning locations like Zephras Isle, Riverglades, and Mount Hyjal, and a streaming link published by Blizzard for listening on major services. Blizzard credits composers including Adam Burgess, Brendon Williams, David Arkenstone, Neal Acree, and Jason Hayes, with Derek Duke as Music Director.

What Mac players should know

As always, weekly WoW roundups can be a useful roadmap for planning play time—especially when Blizzard rolls in multiple systems at once (new encounter content, challenge gauntlets, seasonal refreshes, and PTR testing). For MacGaming.com readers, the key takeaway is straightforward: Blizzard is outlining what’s live now in 12.1.5, what’s testable next via PTR for Echoes of the Worldcore, and how WoW: Forever is being positioned ahead of its November launch window, as stated by Blizzard. (Blizzard’s post does not make any new platform-specific announcements.)
