GOG is marking its 18th Anniversary Sale with an extra perk alongside the usual wave of discounts: a free month of Discord Nitro for qualifying buyers. For Mac players who use Discord for multiplayer coordination, community servers, or simply hanging out while gaming, it’s a straightforward bonus to stack on top of a DRM-free purchase.
What GOG is offering
According to GOG, shoppers who buy one or more games during the GOG 18th Anniversary Sale for a final gross amount of at least $10 USD (or local equivalent) paid at checkout can unlock 1 month of Discord Nitro at no extra cost. GOG also notes that eligibility requires marketing consent on the GOG account.
Sale dates and redemption deadline
GOG says the promotion is tied to the Anniversary Sale window running from 28 October 2026, 15:00 CET through 5 November 2026, 09:00 CET. Eligible users should receive an email from GOG with redemption instructions, and GOG states the Nitro offer must be redeemed by 5 December 2026, 09:00 CET.
Important details Mac gamers should know
GOG emphasizes that the offer is one per eligible user and that additional Discord requirements and regional restrictions apply. GOG also notes you’ll need a valid Discord account and a payment method to redeem. After the one-month trial, Discord Nitro will automatically renew as a paid monthly subscription unless canceled before the trial ends, per GOG’s promotion details.
Why this matters for MacGaming.com readers
Even if you primarily play on macOS, the core draw of GOG remains the same: DRM-free ownership. GOG reiterates that games purchased on the platform are DRM-free, meaning you can download installers, back up your library, and manage your games on your own terms. As always, Mac users should still double-check each game’s individual system requirements and platform availability on its store page before buying—this promotion doesn’t change whether any specific title supports macOS.
