Rewards Track refresh incoming for Reign of the Black Empire

Blizzard has detailed a full Rewards Track refresh for Hearthstone timed with the launch of Reign of the Black Empire, bringing a new mix of card rewards, cosmetics, and progression boosts. If you’re the kind of player who logs in for dailies on a Mac and keeps an eye on value-per-minute, this is one of those “check your track before patch day” updates.

Per Blizzard, when the Rewards Track refreshes, all players will automatically receive any unclaimed rewards from the current free Rewards Track and (if purchased) the current Tavern Pass track, before the new Reign of the Black Empire Rewards Track replaces it.

What’s in the free track

According to Blizzard, the free Rewards Track for Reign of the Black Empire includes:

• 14 Golden cards (two copies each of seven set cards)
• Archaedas Legendary card
• A random Legendary card (from Reign of the Black Empire)
• A random Epic card (from Reign of the Black Empire)
• Tavern Tickets
• Gold and packs

One important detail: Blizzard notes that the 14 Golden cards and the Archaedas Legendary earned via the Rewards Track can’t be crafted or disenchanted. That matters if you typically treat track grants as dust-adjacent value—these are collection builders and cosmetics, not dust banking.

Tavern Pass: cosmetics, Signature cards, and XP boosts

Blizzard also outlined the Reign of the Black Empire Tavern Pass, which adds a paid progression line with cosmetic rewards, card cosmetics, and multiple XP boosts. Purchasing the Tavern Pass at any time during the expansion, Blizzard says, immediately grants a 10% XP Boost for the rest of the expansion and unlocks all paid rewards up to your current level.

Highlights Blizzard lists on the paid track include:

• Diamond Legendary cards: Rajh, Sun Construct; Ammunae
• Golden Legendary cards: M.O.T.H.E.R; Archaedas
• Signature cards: Assimilating Ooze (2); OC91 Chariot (2); Primal Rockfang (2)
• Cosmetics: a new coin, a new card back, and 8 hero skins
• Packs: Golden Standard Pack and multiple Reign of the Black Empire packs
• Additional XP boosts

As with the free-track grants, Blizzard specifies that Tavern Pass card grants are not craftable or disenchantable.

Notable milestones (levels to watch)

Blizzard’s published reward table is extensive, but a few checkpoints are worth calling out if you plan your season:

• Level 1 (Free): Archaedas Legendary card
• Level 20 (Free): Random Reign of the Black Empire Legendary card
• Level 50 (Free): Random Legendary card
• Level 90 (Paid): Reign of the Black Empire cosmetic coin (requires Tavern Pass, per Blizzard)
• Level 100 (Paid): Hero Skin Choice + Rajh, Sun Construct Diamond card (as listed by Blizzard)

XP boost steps are also layered into the Tavern Pass track (Blizzard lists boosts starting at 10% on purchase and additional boosts later), which can change how quickly you reach the high-value cosmetic tiers.

Signature-card Feats and new cosmetic coins

Beyond the main tracks, Blizzard says players can earn additional Signature-card rewards through Feats. Progressing to the Legendary Collector Feat awards two copies each of these Signature cards: Blind Harrower, Efflorescence, and Tank Regiment.

Blizzard is also adding two cosmetic coins with the expansion: the Reign of the Black Empire Coin (earned at level 90 on the Rewards Track with the Tavern Pass) and the Chaos Coin (earned by completing the “Bow Down Mortals” Feat by collecting 135 Reign of the Black Empire cards).

Mac take: what to do before the reset

For Mac players who hop between Hearthstone and other daily-driver games, the practical move here is simple: claim what you can before the refresh hits. Blizzard’s auto-grant safety net for unclaimed rewards is welcome, but manually checking your track and quests ahead of time can still help you avoid leaving XP (and time) on the table once the new progression ladder goes live.
