Apple is teeing up a busy start to October for Apple Arcade, with a lineup that’s especially relevant to Mac players who lean on cross-device libraries and “no ads, no IAP” game versions that just work across the Apple ecosystem. Headlining the drop is Pusheen’s Place, which Apple says launches October 1 as the first officially licensed game starring Pusheen the Cat — and it’s exclusive to Apple Arcade.
Pusheen’s Place: Cozy collecting built for the Arcade catalog
Pusheen’s Place (developed by Lively) is framed as a cozy, collection-driven game: build out a “Pusheen paradise,” decorate rooms, craft items, and collect more than 100 kitties. Apple also calls out mini-games including Snack Stack, Parfait Pop, and Batch Match, and name-drops familiar characters like Pusheenicorn and Pancake Pusheen.
For Mac and Apple Silicon readers, the big value here is less about raw horsepower and more about ecosystem convenience: Apple Arcade releases typically land across Apple platforms under one subscription, which can make these bite-sized cozy titles a good fit for Mac laptops, iPad, and iPhone hopping. If you’re already using Arcade as a low-friction way to keep a casual library synced across devices, this is exactly that kind of add.
River City Survivors brings wave-based chaos
Apple is also adding River City Survivors (developed by Arc System Works), described as a survivors-like action game set in the long-running River City universe. Expect waves of zombies, randomized upgrades, flashy special moves, and a roster of 20+ playable characters including Kunio and Riki, plus up to two recruitable companions.
Arcade’s appeal on Mac often comes down to controller support and pick-up-and-play sessions that don’t require tinkering. If River City Survivors hits the right performance and input feel on macOS, it could be a nice “one more run” option alongside Arcade’s existing action catalog.
Terraria+ joins Arcade with the Bigger & Boulder 1.4.5 update
The biggest “core gamer” name in this batch is Terraria+. Apple says the Arcade edition includes the Bigger & Boulder update (1.4.5), featuring a Dead Cells crossover, plus content including “iconic Pals from Palworld,” and more additions. Multiplayer is also highlighted: join up with up to seven friends via Game Center or local Wi‑Fi, and explore 20+ biomes.
From a MacGaming.com perspective, Terraria remains one of those evergreen games that benefits from being available in as many frictionless formats as possible. An Arcade version that’s explicitly positioned as free of ads and in-app purchases will be attractive to players who want a clean, subscription-based install — especially in households using Family Sharing where Arcade acts like a shared games shelf.
Two more familiar hits: Touchgrind BMX 2+ and 4 Pics 1 Word+
Rounding out the October 1 additions are Touchgrind BMX 2+ (a physics-driven BMX stunt game with two-finger controls) and 4 Pics 1 Word+, the Arcade edition of the long-running picture-word puzzle hit.
These are the kinds of games that tend to do well on iPhone and iPad first, but on Mac they can still matter: Arcade’s value proposition is consistency, and Apple keeps leaning into recognizable mobile staples that become “premium” by subtracting monetization and adding subscription access.
