TideWane has launched on Mac (33% off during launch week)
TideWane is now available, and it’s arriving with a launch-week discount: 33% off. If you like progression-heavy games that blend idle automation with active decision-making, TideWane’s core loop is all about diving deeper, getting stronger, and finding out how far you can push before the ocean pushes back.
What kind of game is TideWane?
TideWane is a deep-sea submarine action/idle hybrid. Your submarine auto-attacks nearby targets, letting the game handle the constant firing while you focus on higher-level choices: managing oxygen, choosing upgrades, routing through zones, and optimizing how you earn and spend PSI energy. Each run is a pressure test—literal and mechanical—as you descend into increasingly dangerous waters.
Five ocean zones, dozens of species, and 25 bosses
The campaign is structured around 5 ocean zones, each with its own atmosphere and enemy threats. You’ll start among smaller fish in the Shallows and eventually contend with much more dangerous creatures in later regions like the Hydrothermal Vents.
Combat is designed around momentum. Build massive kill combos to earn bonus PSI, then funnel that PSI into upgrades that keep your submarine lethal as the depth climbs. The big progression gates are the 25 milestone bosses, each positioned as a checkpoint on your descent and a test of whether your build is ready for the next layer of the ocean.
Progression that keeps unfolding: PSI grid, artifacts, and forging
TideWane leans hard into long-term power growth. Your main currency, PSI energy, feeds a sprawling upgrade grid where you can tune the fundamentals of your sub: damage, speed, oxygen capacity, combo multipliers, and more. As your build matures, you’ll also unlock passive abilities that can dramatically shift how your sub performs, turning it into what the game plainly wants: a deep-sea killing machine.
Beyond upgrades, there are 36 artifacts with unique effects. These aren’t just collectibles—you can forge artifacts to higher levels using salvage earned from Deep Dive mode, giving you another path to scaling power over time. Completionists also get a bestiary to fill out, documenting the creatures you encounter across the zones.
Ascend, Transcend, and chase the OMEGA ending
If you enjoy layered prestige systems, TideWane is built around three major progression resets that are meant to feel meaningful rather than punitive:
- Ascension: resets your PSI grid but rewards you with Pearls for a second upgrade grid.
- Transcendence: resets everything, but grants Void Cores for permanent endgame power.
- The Void Tree: a 30-node structure across five branches, including the route to the OMEGA ending.
In practice, this means TideWane isn’t only about a single “best run.” It’s about building an account-wide engine of power, then using that engine to push deeper, faster, and more efficiently—until you’re ready to pursue the game’s ultimate conclusion.
Endless mode, customization, and a surprising audio flex
When you want a break from structured progression, Deep Dive endless mode offers extended runs with mid-dive events to keep things from becoming purely routine. On the personalization side, you can unlock 20 submarine skins and 16 cursor designs, all rendered in a pixel art style that fits the game’s arcade-like clarity.
One standout bullet point: TideWane features procedural audio, with sounds synthesized in real time. It also includes a robust set of options (auto-dive, screen shake, damage numbers, and more) so Mac players can tailor the feel and readability to their preferences.
