Blizzard has locked in the next big PvE stop for
World of Warcraft
’s Burning Crusade era: Zul’Aman arrives in BCCA on October 22. The studio says the global launch goes live at 3:00 p.m. PDT / 23:00 BST, sending raids back into the Eastern Kingdoms for a 10-player assault on the Amani stronghold in the Ghostlands.Zul’Aman: 10-player raid, level 70, no attunement
Set just south of Quel’Thalas in the eerie Ghostlands, Zul’Aman is positioned as a level 70 raid focused on confronting Zul’jin and his lieutenants. Blizzard notes that no attunement is required to enter the instance, and that Zul’Aman uses a 3-day reset lockout.
According to Blizzard, the raid boss lineup includes Nalorakk, Akil’zon, Jan’alai, Halazzi, Hex Lord Malacrass, and Zul’jin. If you’re planning to jump in on day one, the format is the classic 10-player setup—bring nine allies and expect a tight, mechanics-forward raid that rewards coordination.
Timed hostage-rescue run returns for the Amani War Bear
The headline chase item here is the Amani War Bear battle mount. Blizzard says Zul’jin’s forces hold several hostages, and the moment your group breaches the gates, the clock starts ticking toward their execution.
Rescuing hostages before time expires is the key: Blizzard explains that each lieutenant you defeat and hostage you save both adds extra loot and extends the timer, giving your raid more runway to complete the full set of rescues and earn the bear.
Endgame changes landing alongside Zul’Aman
Blizzard’s announcement packages Zul’Aman with a broad sweep of quality-of-life and progression updates that matter if you’re gearing alts, catching up, or optimizing weekly routines.
Attunements and access: Blizzard says The Battle for Mount Hyjal and The Black Temple will no longer require attunement to enter. It also states the reputation requirement for Heroic dungeon keys has been reduced to Honored.
Heroics tuned down: Blizzard notes that all Heroic dungeons will be adjusted to their final, reduced difficulty state, which should smooth out gearing paths and make daily/weekly farming more consistent.
World boss loot loosened: Blizzard says Doomlord Kazzak and Doomwalker now drop loot that is Bind on Equip (changed from Bind on Pickup), potentially reshaping how raid groups, guild banks, and the economy handle those drops.
Badges of Justice: more drop sources, stronger purchases
If your weekly plan revolves around badges, Blizzard lists significant expansions to where Badges of Justice can drop. Per the announcement, badges may now come from:
Doomlord Kazzak and Doomwalker; all bosses in Karazhan, Gruul’s Lair, and Magtheridon’s Lair; all bosses in Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep; and all bosses in Zul’Aman.
Blizzard also says G’eras in Shattrath will offer more powerful items for Badges of Justice, including Nether Vortex, giving badge farming a more direct line to meaningful upgrades and crafting progression.
Epic gem and crafting updates
On the itemization front, Blizzard notes that Magtheridon’s Black Sack of Gems and Jewelcrafter’s Brilliant Glass can now contain epic gems. There’s an important caveat: Blizzard specifies that existing Brilliant Glasses and previously looted, unopened Black Sacks of Gems will not gain the new epic gem possibilities retroactively.
Additional updates called out by Blizzard include Outland faction vendors offering Leatherworking recipes for Greater Drums, Knothide Quiver, and Knothide Ammo Pouch. Blizzard also states that Primal Nether and Nether Vortex will no longer be soulbound.
What MacGaming.com readers should take away
For players who track MMO updates from the Mac gaming community, this is a content-and-systems drop worth noting even if you’re primarily focused on platform specifics: Blizzard is pairing a fan-favorite raid with tangible friction reduction across The Burning Crusade endgame—attunements eased, Heroics softened, badge acquisition broadened, and crafting/trade flexibility improved. The combination is designed to make it easier to assemble groups, gear faster, and keep older content relevant while Zul’Aman becomes a new weekly anchor.
