WoW Weekly delivers a multi-track WoW update
Blizzard has published a new WoW Weekly round-up covering several active (and upcoming) World of Warcraft beats—spanning the in-development World of Warcraft: Forever, the newly launched Gods of Zul’Aman content update for Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary, and the seasonal return of Hallow’s End. For MacGaming.com readers, the key takeaway is simple: there’s a lot happening across Azeroth right now, and most of it is about content cadence, events, and account-level planning rather than platform-specific changes.
As always, availability, dates, and feature specifics are per Blizzard’s announcement.
WoW: Forever: beta discussion, name reservations, and a new way to “pick a realm”
Blizzard spotlights WoW: Forever Podcast Episode 5, a “Dive into the End of Beta” special hosted by Countdown To Classic with guest Meeix. The episode features Blizzard developers including Senior Game Designer Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield, Associate Production Director Clay Stone, Lead Software Engineer Ana Resendez, and Lead Encounter Designer Michael Nuthals. If you’re tracking Forever’s design direction, this is positioned as a dense listen focused on what’s changing as beta wraps.
Blizzard also reiterates that character name reservations for World of Warcraft: Forever run October 27 through November 3, with region start times listed as:
Europe: October 27 at 18:00 CET
North America: October 27 at 1:00 p.m. PDT
Korea: October 28 at 07:00 KST
Taiwan: October 28 at 07:00 CST
From a practical perspective, this matters for anyone who cares about securing legacy guild tags, roleplay identities, or long-held character names—especially if you expect Forever’s launch window to be busy.
One of the more notable design notes: Blizzard says it’s moving away from the traditional realm-selection screen and introducing “rulesets”—described as broader player ecosystems intended to group players by preferred playstyle while keeping the “living world” feel. If it works as described, rulesets could reduce the classic problem of picking a quiet realm (or the wrong ruleset) and later feeling locked in—though we’ll need to see how it plays out at scale.
Camping, new dungeons, and December raids in WoW: Forever
Blizzard also highlights several gameplay pillars for Forever:
Camping: A system that expands the use of a Cooking Fire into a social/rest point where players can “rest, prepare, and connect.” On paper, it’s a small feature aimed at making the world feel more lived-in—something many players miss when leveling becomes purely transactional.
Nine new five-player dungeons: Blizzard is introducing nine new dungeons spanning level 13 through level 60, described as rooted in original WoW but sending players into new threats and corners of the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Dungeon count and leveling coverage suggest Blizzard is aiming to keep group content frequent throughout the leveling curve, not just at the cap.
Raid overview (December 9): Blizzard says that on December 9, level 60 players will have access to three raids: Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, and Onyxia’s Lair. Blizzard also calls out an attunement path for Onyxia’s Lair requiring the Drakefire Amulet. For raid-minded players, this is your calendar marker: the early endgame structure is being communicated well ahead of time, which should help guilds plan rosters and progression goals.
Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary: Gods of Zul’Aman is now live
For players focused on Classic-era content, Blizzard states that The Gods of Zul’Aman update is now live in Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary. The update centers on Zul’Aman in the Ghostlands, framing a renewed push against Zul’jin’s growing Amani threat.
MacGaming.com readers who jump between versions should note the practical implication: it’s another moment where your “main WoW” may not be the same client your friends are playing this month, depending on whether your group is chasing Classic progression, modern seasonal events, or Forever’s upcoming beats.
Hallow’s End is back (October 19–November 2) with new rewards
Blizzard confirms Hallow’s End runs October 19–November 2, framing it around the Forsaken’s break from the Scourge and the usual trick-or-treat mischief across Azeroth’s inns.
Blizzard’s “new this year” list includes:
Midnight Candy Buckets throughout Quel’Thalas
Hallow’s End Haunts “come to your neighborhood”
Holiday vendors with new spooky holiday décor
A fresh set of new achievements
Seasonal events are often the best low-commitment way to return to WoW—log in for cosmetics, achievements, and limited-time rewards without committing to a raid schedule. If you’ve been away, this is the sort of two-week window that makes it easy to test the waters again.
More: Midnight motion comic, sales, and a Rexxar-themed bundle
Blizzard also promotes the World of Warcraft: Midnight motion comic “Singularity,” following Arator Windrunner with narration by Yuri Lowenthal, written by Robert Brooks, with art by Joseph Lacroix (colors by Marco Lacoti; letters by AndWorld Design). There’s also a downloadable PDF mentioned in Blizzard’s post.
On the commerce side, Blizzard says Fall Savings run through November 2 with discounts “up to 50%” across World of Warcraft: Midnight and WoW Burning Crusade Anniversary Classic experiences, plus select game services and transmogs (specific percentages vary by item/category, per Blizzard).
Finally, Blizzard is selling a Champion of the Wilds Pack themed around Rexxar, available through November 8, 2026, with cosmetics and pet appearance tie-ins for Hunters in modern WoW (noted as currently Midnight).
